Poverty Action believes that the real solutions to poverty will require our state to forward programs and policies that:

Promote economic equality and reduce the gap between the rich and the poor.
Create equal opportunity for everyone regardless of race, age, ethnicity, gender, disability and sexual orientation.
Foster the creation and protection of living wage jobs with adequate benefits and the rights of workers to organize.
Ensure access to the tools families need to become self-sufficient and lift themselves from poverty.
Enrich, develop and protect the role of government in ensuring that residents can meet their basic needs.
