Sharing Personal Experience As Knowledge (SPEAK) is a Poverty Action initiative to capture the voices of people struggling with poverty and low-incomes. People are sharing their stories to break down stereotypes, to change social policies, and to strengthen the voices of people with low-incomes at the state level.
Volunteer to SPEAK Out!
Tell us your story. Tell us about barriers you're facing to opportunity from housing to education. SPEAK out about your experience with GAU, predatory lending (payday or mortgage), TANF, or Basic Health. You can share your story in person, in writing, in video, or as an audio recording. Database Assistance
One of the most important assets we have is the ability to contact our members. In order to do this, we must keep our database up-to-date. Come in and help us clean out duplicates and 'bad' addresses and phone numbers. This is a mellow and easy way to help. Sign up here.
